In 1955, the Board of Directors was established, marking the beginning of the Polish Scouting Association and bringing together under one umbrella, four branches of the scouting movement: boy scouts, girl scouts, senior scouts, and scouting auxiliary. From that moment on, the Board of Directors has been the heart of our scouting community - connecting local groups, supporting their development, preserving tradition, and guiding us toward a better future.
The first Annual Meeting of Members took place on May 15, 1955. During this historic meeting, members for the Board of Directors were elected, and its first Chair became Prof. Dr. Scoutmaster Władysław Wrażej - a scout from one of the earliest scouting troops founded in Lviv in 1909. Since then, Annual General Conventions of the Association have been held regularly every two years, electing a new Board of Directors and setting the direction for the continued development of scouting in Canada.
The Board of Directors carries significant responsibility and, above all, ensures the proper atmosphere, values, and harmonious cooperation of the PSA organizations within Canada. It handles legal matters, provides insurance coverage for youth during scouting activities, safeguards on scouting property, and oversees finances and their control.
It coordinates meetings of the Board of Directors and the Annual Meeting of Members, and communicates with local scouting communities through official announcements and the Canadian scouting bulletin Wici.
The Board of Directors serves as the coordinator of scouting activities and external representation, maintaining positive and friendly relationships with Polish community organizations, institutions, and the clergy.
The Board is responsible for the legal status of the Polish Scouting Association in relation to the laws and obligations of the country in which we live. The Polish Scouting Association in Canada is registered with the federal government under the name: “Polish Scouting Association in Canada Incorporated.”
Scouting activities often include events and initiatives on both national and international levels. In cooperation with the various branches (Girl and Boy Scouts, Senior Scouts, and the Scouting Auxiliaeries), the Board of Directors organizes and coordinates such initiatives as world jamborees, trips and major expeditions, “Aid to Poland” campaigns, fundraising efforts, and more.
For more than 70 years, a vast collection of documents has been accumulated—papers, records, correspondence, photographs, films, publications, chronicles, logbooks, and many other valuable keepsakes. To preserve these, the Board established the Polish Scouting Archive in Canada, where these materials are stored and made accessible.

Documents that define the operating principles of the Polish Scouting Association in Canada (PSA), ensuring participant safety and compliance with Canadian legal requirements. They reflect our standards of responsibility and care for youth.
This is the PSA in Canada regular publication, where history, passion, and scouting enthusiasm come together with a heart for both Poland and Canada.
Founded at the end of 1954, it was initially a publication for the Boy Scouts organization, containing support and training materials for cubs, scouts, and rovers. In 1955, it became a joint publication for all scouting organizations in Canada, as the Girls & Boy Scouts Senior, and the Scouting Auxiliary joined in.
“Wici” continues to publish helpful materials for organizing meetings, trips, and scouting events. It also features articles from scouting life across various centers and units, as well as memories from camps, colonies, hikes, courses, and jamborees - often written by youth members themselves.
Additionally, it includes engaging content on Polish history and literature, the history of scouting, as well as reflections and talks from PSA Chairs and Chaplains. “Wici” is enriched with numerous photographs from scouting activities across Canada.
Official communications issued by the Chair, PSA in Canada, containing important information, directives, and regulations. They serve as a tool for internal communication, connecting the entire district.
They are password-protected, and PSA members can obtain access through official channels.
