The Polish Boy Scouts Organization
It is the male branch of the Polish Scouting Association. It fulfills the organization’s mission through programs and activities for boys, carried out using the scouting method. This method is based on the educational model of Robert Baden-Powell and on the values derived from the Scouting Law and Promise.
At each scouting level, boys develop their skills, earn badges and ranks, and learn teamwork, responsibility, and a love for nature. Throughout the school year, they regularly participate in meetings with activities tailored to their age and abilities. These activities prepare them to take on new challenges and continue their scouting development.
Work with the boys is carried out across three levels and is supervised by trained leaders (instructors):

It is the primary organizational unit of the Boy Scouts within the country division.
In Canada, the Polish Boy Scouts Organization has been operating continuously since 1953 in the provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec, and currently has over 652 members.
At the head of the division is the Chief Commissioner of the Polish Boy Scouts Organization, elected by the Conference of Boy Scouts in Canada and appointed by the International Commissioner of the Boy Scout Organization.- komendant@zhp.ca
In August 1953, hm. Stanisław T. Orłowski was appointed as the Chief Commisionner of the Polish Boy Scouts Organization, and in September, the Polish Boy Scouts leadership team was established. It registered scouting leadership and introduced a territorial structure divided into districts: “Orlęta” in Montreal (Quebec), “Karpaty” in Ontario, and a developing region in Western Canada.
The “Orlęta” District began working with already existing units, soon joined by new packs and troops formed after 1953. The district developed its own administration and finances, and organized summer activities on its own scouting grounds at the “Gniezno” Scouts Property.
The “Karpaty” District, based in Toronto, covered the province of Ontario. Work began with existing units in Toronto and St. Catharines, and in the following years new packs and troops were established in Toronto, Ottawa, Niagara Falls, Welland, Windsor, Hamilton, Sudbury, Chatham, Kingston, and Oshawa.
To improve organization within the “Karpaty” District, smaller local structures called troops (szczepy) were created in larger cities across Ontario. These included:
“Dunajec” in Hamilton
“Pomorze” in St. Catharines
“Poprad” in Burlington
“Piastowski Gród” in London
“Zośka” in Chatham
“Bałtyk” in Toronto (later also in Brampton)
“Podhale” in Etobicoke
“Giewont” in Toronto
“Warszawa” in Scarborough
“Wigry” in Mississauga
“Polanie” in Oshawa
“Turnia” (formerly “Lechici”) in Ottawa
In 1969, a new district called “Pieniny” was formed from the “Karpaty” District. It included all clusters operating in southern Ontario: “Dunajec,” “Poprad,” “Pomorze,” “Piastowski Gród,” and “Zośka.”
The clusters within the “Karpaty” and “Pieniny” districts maintain their own organizational structures and finances, and organize their own camps either on scouting grounds or on land leased from the Franciscan Fathers in Kaszuby. Cub groups from both districts often form a joint summer camp at the “Karpaty” Scouts Property.
In Western Canada, between 1955 and 1960, units were also established: in Edmonton (District “Pomorze,” 1959), in Calgary (Troop “Rysy”), in Vancouver (existing troops later formed District “Morskie Oko” in 1985), and in Winnipeg (District “Gdańsk,” 1961).
The Polish Boy Scouts Organization is made up of districts (hufce), which bring together troops and units operating in a given area.
Districts are led by District Commissioner (hufcowi), while troops are led by Local Commissioner (szczepowi).
